FAQ

What are your session fees?

Individual session

50 minutes - £60 in-person or £50 online

30 minutes - £35 online – children and young people only

For students, I offer a concessionary rate. For further details please ask at the time of booking. Payment is by bank transfer and further details will be in your therapy contract.

How do I make an appointment?

I offer a free, 30-minute consultation so that we can meet, see if there’s a good fit, and I can answer any questions you may have before starting anything. To arrange an appointment, call me on +44 7778 520815 or email info@talkingwithnatalie.co.uk.

When do sessions take place?

I work Monday to Thursday between 8am to 8pm. I can meet you in one of three adult and young people’s counselling locations in Nottingham, subject to accessibility and availability. These are The Humber Therapy Centre in Beeston, The Sage Therapy Centre on Western Boulevard or Crescent Counselling in The Park.

Sessions are usually weekly or fortnightly. We can agree to meet at the same time and day, and I am flexible around scheduling if you have varying shift work patterns and/or other commitments. I can also offer one-off sessions or longer sessions if that is what you feel you need.

How do I cancel a session?

I would appreciate at least 48 hours’ notice before cancelling a session. However, I understand that there could be emergencies, so please don’t hesitate to contact me on my mobile phone if anything arises. The same conditions apply if I need to cancel one of our sessions. Payment will be required in full if less than 48 hours’ notice is given.

What happens in our first session?

During our first session, I will take some details from you and ask you some specific questions to help me understand your situation more fully. This is not an assessment. It’s just to make sure that I have any information which may be relevant to our work together.

We will also have a chance to discuss the new client forms which I will send before your first session. I will also provide more information about the confidential nature of the sessions.

For clients under the age of 18, an adult needs to be present for the contracting phase of the first session.

What type of therapy do you offer?

I am a person-centred adult and children’s therapist. This means that I see you, the client, as the expert on yourself and what you need to live a happy and fulfilled life. This means that I will not try to change your thinking, or tell you what to do.

During our sessions, my role is to create an environment in which you feel safe to explore all aspects of yourself, as well as any difficulties which you might be experiencing. To do this I will:

  • listen to your situation with empathy and understanding

  • be honest and open in how I experience you and your world

  • accept and value you fully as a person
